Who We Are
Innovative Lighting is celebrating 30 years of engineering, manufacturing, and distributing LED lighting and injection molded products. We were one of the first LED manufacturers in the United States and continue being on the leading edge of innovative technology and product development. We offer a variety of solutions with a focus on five main divisions: Marine, Truck & Trailer, Commercial, Refrigeration, and GENISYS PoE Lighting.
Where We Operate
Innovative Lighting supports two locations out of the prairies of central Iowa. Our Headquarters are located in Story City, while our sales division and GENISYS team operate out of Des Moines.

Our History
Owner and founder, Jerry Handsaker, graduated from Iowa State University, went on to law school, and practiced law in Iowa for more than 20 years. During that time, in 1993, he launched Innovative Lighting in Algona, Iowa, by first inventing a revolutionary retractable stern light. Innovative Lighting then dove into the lighting industry by producing a variety of lighting products for the marine industry
